This disease affects children between the ages of 5 to 15 years both boys and girls.The districts of Kitgum, Lamwo, Pader, Gulu and a few parts of Amuru are most affected. The most affected areas are along river Aswa and Pager. It has also been reported in areas affected by river blindness
